Inter-Tribal Working Group (ITWG) on Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction (SDVCJ)

Event Description: This will be the 11th in-person meeting of the Inter-Tribal Working Group (ITWG) on Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) Special Domestic Violence Criminal Jurisdiction (SDVCJ). The ITWG is a voluntary working group of designated tribal representatives who exchange views, information, and advice, peer-to-peer, concerning how tribes may best implement SDVCJ, combat domestic violence, recognize victims’ rights and safety needs, safeguard defendants’ rights. The meeting focuses on implementation of the enhanced tribal criminal jurisdiction provisions of VAWA 2013. Department of Justice Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) New Grantee Orientation

Event Description: The Department of Justice Coordinated Tribal Assistance Solicitation (CTAS) Committee will conduct the FY 2018 CTAS Orientation on December 3 - 4, 2018. The CTAS Orientation is designed to provide CTAS grant recipients with the tools and guidance necessary to implement and operate programs funded under the FY 2018 CTAS initiative.

Intended Audience: Attendance at this event is a requirement for FY 2018 CTAS grant recipients, except if your tribe was only awarded a Purpose Area 5 award through the Office on Violence Against Women this year. For those grantees who were awarded a single award through Purpose Area 5, the CTAS Orientation is optional and not a requirement. Each tribe should ensure that one financial point of contact (POC) and one programmatic POC for each awarded Purpose Area (PA) attends this Orientation.

OJJDP National Tribal Youth Biennial Conference

Event Description: The OJJDP Tribal Youth Training and Technical Assistance Center is proud to announce the 2018 National Tribal Youth Conference to occur December 3 - 4, 2018 with the theme, "Reclaiming the Sacred Circle: Justice and Healing for Tribal Youth through Prevention, Intervention, and Treatment." The conference will be coordinated by the Indian Country Child Trauma Center through a cooperative agreement with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention. This multi-track event will provide participants with the opportunity to engage with Nationally recognized experts in the fields of Tribal juvenile justice, connect with other court-based programming, delinquency prevention, intervention and community-based efforts, and learn about strategies to support and promote safety in Tribal communities.   Sponsoring Agency: The conference will be coordinated by the Indian Country Child Trauma Center through a cooperative agreement with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP).  
Intended Audience: The meeting is a national gathering of OJJDP Tribal youth program and Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court grantees and other intervention, prevention and court-based programs serving Tribal Youth.

Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) Tribal Listening Session on Potential Future Tribal Set-Aside Funding

Event Description: The U. S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Office for Victims of Crime (OVC) will be hosting the Tribal Listening Session on Potential Future Tribal VOCA (Victims of Crime Act) Set-Aside Funding to give tribal leaders and tribal representatives an opportunity to provide feedback to the Department of Justice about the administration of potential future tribal set-aside funding for victim services in American Indian and Alaska Native communities. The purpose of the Listening Session is to discuss victim services grant award programs for tribal communities; information about the administration of the FY18 and potential FY19 tribal set-aside funding; and how Tribal leaders and representatives recommend that potential future tribal set-aside funding be allocated/administered.
