The 12th Interdepartmental Tribal Justice, Safety and Wellness Session has been scheduled for Monday, December 6 through Wednesday, December 8, 2010 in Palm Springs, California. This national session will precede the Department of Justice (DOJ) Office for Victims of
Crime's (OVC)Â National Indian Nations Conference and will continue to emphasize justice, safety, and wellness issues. Program topics include numerous sessions that guide the federal grants/contracts application and management and reporting requirements; health care; housing and community development; tribal data systems; tribal courts; detention facilities; tribal youth programs; domestic violence;
victims' assistance; suicide prevention; alcohol and substance abuse; community-based partnerships; sex offender management, registration and notification programs; and data reporting and information sharing.
This Tribal Justice, Safety and Wellness Session will also provide an opportunity for dialogue with federal partners on a number of topics, including a consultation regarding the Tribal Law and Order Act and its implications on Wednesday, December 8, 2010.
