Federal Grant Updates



  *   OJJDP FY2018 Family Drug Court Research and Evaluation Program<https://www.ojjdp.gov/grants/solicitations/FY2018/FDCResearch.pdf> - This program furthers the Department’s mission to reduce substance abuse (including opioid abuse) by supporting rigorous research and evaluation efforts that inform the development of and improvements to family drug courts designed to address parental substance abuse and promote family reunification.
Deadline: June 14, 2018 by 11:59 PM ET

  *   The FY 2018 Comprehensive Opioid Abuse Site-based Program (COAP)<https://www.bja.gov/funding/COAP18.pdf> application deadline has been extended to June 18.
This site-based grant program provides awards ranging from $100,000 to $1,500,000 for a 24- to 36-month project period to deliver financial and technical assistance to states, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments to plan, develop, and implement comprehensive efforts to identify, respond to, treat, and support those impacted by the opioid epidemic.

  *   OJJDP FY2018 Drug Treatment Courts Program<https://www.ojjdp.gov/grants/solicitations/FY2018/DrugTC.pdf> - This program furthers the Department’s mission by providing resources to state, local, and tribal governments to enhance drug court programs for juveniles in the justice system with substance abuse problems, specifically those related to opioid abuse.
Deadline: June 21, 2018 by 11:59 PM ET

  *   OJJDP FY2018 Opioid Affected Youth Initiative <https://www.ojjdp.gov/grants/solicitations/FY2018/Opioid.pdf> - This Initiative furthers the Administration’s priority to support states, local communities, and tribal jurisdictions in their efforts to develop and implement effective programs for children, youth, and at-risk juveniles and their families who have been impacted by the opioid crisis and drug addiction.
Deadline: July 2, 2018 by 11:59 PM ET

  *   OVC FY2018 Enhancing Community Responses to the Opioid Crisis<https://www.ovc.gov/grants/pdftxt/FY18-Opioid-Young-Victims-of-Crime-508.pdf> - The purpose of this solicitation is to address an urgent gap in crime victim services related to the opioid epidemic and to expand upon existing or establish new programs to provide services to children and youth who are victimized as a result of the opioid crisis.  OVC anticipates that this solicitation will support service providers in expanding their current scope and expertise to ensure that children and youth—the most vulnerable victims impacted by the opioid crisis—are supported as they heal from the impact of crime and substance abuse.

Pat Sekaquaptewa with guest presenter Lauren van Schilfgaarde. The course will provide participants an introductory instructional experience to support development or enhancement of Tribal juvenile justice codes, policy, and procedures. The course will cover topics such as design, philosophy, and integrity of the juvenile justice system within a Tribal community. The course will provide an emphasis to support developing Tribal Juvenile Healing to Wellness Courts or those interested.
