We had a great first round of Virtual Classroom Discussions this Spring. You are again invited to join us for our Summer Virtual Classrooms with brand new content and discussion topics. We're pairing a traditional webinar with three live, interactive, virtual classroom sessions to tackle critical issues facing FDCs today. It's valuable, effective, practical information that's couched in an ultimately convenient setting.

How It Works

  1. Register for your choice of one or two free virtual classroom courses
  2. Receive access to a pre-recorded webinar about your course topic that contains an informative and practical overview of the course content

  1. Join other participants in your virtual classroom for three, mentor-guided, live presentations of additional information; opportunities for exploratory homework; and real-time interaction and discussion with participants from around the country

4. Receive a Certificate of Completion for attending all three live virtual classroom presentations and completing all homework

Additional Advantages of the 2016 Virtual Classroom Courses

  * Real-time networking and knowledge sharing with other practitioners
  *   Coaching and mentoring
  * Applied learning through enhanced learning activities
  * Access to pre-recorded webinars and Discussion Guides to discuss as a Team
  *   Technical assistance and resources

A key ingredient that makes FDCs so unique, yet complex, is the mandate to serve families by supporting and healing the parent-child relationship. FDCs that are not thoughtfully serving families in an integrated and coordinated way may be hindering their long-term recovery, stability, and success. This virtual classroom course will explore the challenges and solutions related to serving families well and healing the parent-child relationship. Course content will include how FDCs conduct coordinated case planning, deliver evidence-based programming, and assess and monitor family functioning outcomes. Our families deserve our best efforts - let's learn to help each other do that!

Schedule:
Early July - A pre-recorded webinar will explore and outline best practice principles. This webinar will be posted online and can be accessed on demand by anyone regardless if they registered for the Classroom Discussion Series or not. A Discussion Guide will also be provided as a resource for your FDC Team. Registrants will receive an email when the webinar recording is ready for viewing and posted online.

July 12, July 26, August 16 - A total of three (3) Classroom Discussion Sessions will be conducted across several weeks to allow participants time and space to fully immerse in the content, learning activities and team discussions. Participants should pre-register and reserve their classroom seats since space is limited. A Court Syllabus will be provided prior to the first Session.

Data and information is the lifeblood or fuel that sustains the FDC effort. Without sufficient and focused amounts of it, an FDC may fail to achieve its desired outcomes or prove why it should receive support and continue to exist. In spite of this great need, barriers to collecting, accessing, and utilizing data and information are one of the greatest challenges facing FDCs today. This virtual classroom course will explore how FDCs can overcome technology and trust issues in order to create data and information systems that can turn a floundering FDC into a well-oiled machine. Don't be afraid to join because data is indeed your friend here!
